Anyone have any idea what went on with last night’s RMT? Only station I received a test from last night at my stations was from WCBS. No RMTs from WINS, WNYC, OEM nor WABC. And, of course, since we didn’t get one from WNYC or WABC, WOR didn’t send one either. Ah, the law of unintended consequences. With the loss of the NYC NOAA transmitter (KOKX), we adjust our systems to start receiving the NJ transmitter signal (KPHI) – the better of the 2 signals here. In order to get the sage to log the feed, we add a couple of NJ counties (3 to be exact). So, last night, NJ OEM runs their usual monthly test which comes via CAP. The short story here is that they have to relocate the transmitter and don’t even have a new location yet – and when they do find one, they’ll need to test for performance and interference issues. So, if you’re using the NYC NOAA radio on 162.550 MHz, you’ll not get be getting NOAA alerts for a long time. Just passing it along.
