Engineer – 95.5 WPLJ & 77 WABC

Citadel Broadcasting New York City seeks a talented and enthusiastic engineer to join our team at WABC and WPLJ. This individual will participate in the maintenance of all broadcast systems for these legendary radio stations and will provide support for major local and national network programming. Proficiency with transmitters and high-power AM systems is strongly desired. Experience with studio audio distribution, broadcast consoles, routing switchers, digital editors, satellite downlinks, remote broadcast equipment, and automation systems is required. Strong wiring, design, and documentation skills are a plus. A minimum of four years broadcast engineering experience is required. The position includes rotating 24/7 on-call duty and requires availability to work early mornings, nights, and/or weekends when necessary.

Microwave Applications and Systems Engineer - Nucomm

Overall Purpose of job: Provides technical support to the sales team and insures that production receives “clean” orders. Works with customers in order to meet all of their requirements.

Major Responsibilities & Tasks:

Designs end-user microwave systems using products from Nucomm, RF Central and outside vendors.
Creates sales quotes and block diagrams describing proposed systems.
Conducts drawing and system reviews with various stakeholders, including customers, sales team, etc.
Revises quotes and drawings as needed.
Provides strong technical assistance to the sales team, which may include visits to customers.
Troubleshoots customer problems both on the telephone and on-site.
Stays current with technologies in the video transmission and microwave industry.

Knowledge & Skills:

Required:
• 4-year degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent training
• At least one year of experience in a video production or transmission facility
• At least 5 years experience with RF or video systems, preferably as a systems engineer
• Thorough understanding at a systems level of receivers, transmitters, antennas and RF components
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio


Desired:
• Sales support experience
• Knowledge of both analog and digital video systems, including compression standards
• Experience writing proposals for government contracts.
• Familiarity with microwave path analysis and RF propagation
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, switches, routers, etc
• Component level knowledge of electronic circuits

Education & Qualifications:

4 year degree in engineering, electronic technology or computer science. Strong relevant experience may be substituted.

Some travel may be required
Some after hours telephone support may be required
Usually works standard business hours
