Hi there, everyone-
A colleague of mine, Bob Shuster of Shuster Sound, recently had a client request the ability to archive many NAB carts, containing various bits of audio.
We were wondering if anyone in our Chapter might have a ITC Delta 1 in good shape available to borrow or rent to get the task completed. A Delta 3 would be nice as well, as after all the cues are verified, they
could playback carts quickly.
Any good quality deck will do, record amps NOT needed. I cannot recall if he specified mono or stereo, however.
Midnight Bob, who is an AES member who is an expert in the analog audio archiving field, is also the studio engineer at WKCR-FM at Columbia University. He’s a studio pro from way back, and was probably responsible
for setting up many the multitrack decks and gear for several major NYC recording studios for some of your favorite albums in the 70’s and 80’s. I’m going to try and get him to come to one of our meetings next fall, to show us how get those Otari MX5050’s
up and running to factory spec! ;-)
Seriously, though, if you think you might be able to help out Bob, please reach out to him:
