I would recommend something like this:

I’ve used their Tempest 900MHz systems from them before (I think they are discontinued) which worked great.  A little overkill for what you are looking for.

You can also look at something like CoachComs (similar to the Tempest)

Just make sure your solution
a) is rated for continuous full duplex (e.g. it won’t overheat or have short battery life)
b) has a latching PTT button (likely a software/firmware setting)

I would not suggest FRS as they are not designed for continuous talk.

If you wanted to do something less expensive and more of a hack (the two go hand in hand), you could try a Baufang, cheap from Amazon.  They have the ability to do split tune (a and b frequencies), but I don’t know if the rx is disabled on tx.  Also, they technically require a license.

Let us know what you decide, and how it works!

Hello,

Continuous duplex would be ideal.  The distance is 80 feet.

Thanks!

Jonathan-

Are you looking for continuous duplex (both can talk/listen at the same time, all the time)? Or simplex (person A talks, Person B listens) and vice versa)?

And what is the distance?

Hello,

I have been asked to find a communication system that accommodates two people.  Each person would be wearing a headset with a microphone and would be heard in the other person's headset via their own headset's microphone.  I know that an IFB will not work since that is one-way communication.  This is a new area for me, and any guidance as to manufacturers, what to Google for, etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading!
