I am sure most of you are aware that in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, Puerto Rico has been devastated. According to Jose Ribas, executive director of the Puerto Rico Broadcasters Association (PRBA), most of the island's radio stations are off the air. They are working desperately to get these stations back on the air to provide Puerto Rican citizens with emergency information and a connection to the outside world. Through the National Association of Broadcasters, PRBA is asking for help. They desperately need donations of time and material to make repairs in order to get their radio stations back on the air. Contract engineers are also needed. If you can help, please contact David Layer by email or phone (202-429-5339) at NAB Headquarters as soon as possible.
On behalf of the SBE, our thanks to you for any assistance you are able to provide.
