Interesting  Topic  about Bird Kills.
This time of the Year begins mating  season for Birds of Prey.
I noticed at several of my sites   Loads  of dead birds on the ground mostly eaten.
Thought it was  weather related until I started to take "My Freedon to work with me, because of getting dark early.
and not being able to Feed"My Freedom" in the dark.  when I took him out to perch while I did my work. and planned to Hunt  the fields  just before dark.

I noticed that He was getting  edgy.    looking up  there was a Perigrene Falcon, making swoops at him,
BTW  "My Freedom" is my terciel(male) immature Red Tailed Hawk. I am a Master falconer.
The Light bulb Lit up-  that explains all the dead birds at my tower sites. the Male peregrines  were engaging in their Yearly ritual for the Females.
they will start nesting in mid Febuary 2 weeks and into March. Great Horned Owls are already laying Eggs..
I wonder If anyone Else has noticed the Peregrines returning and  Hunting from high up on their towers.. So far  I have seen 8 at 9 tower sites. and 1 rooftop site.
Next Year I am entering the State lottery for falconers.Only one person a year  in my state is allowed to wild trap a  wild Passage Peregrine.
I could Buy one, But  Don't make that kind of extra money.  I will stick with My red tail. and Exercise "My Freedom" daily.
