I have noticed two stations I regularly listen to being pushed off while driving this past week. The first is WNYC-FM at 93.9 being pushed off by a Caribbean station centered on the Orange / East Orange NJ border transmitting on 94.1. On the drive from Newark to West Orange, the signal causes static on my radio which is tolerable, but for about a 1 mile stretch of I-280, WNYC can not be understood at all due to the interference. At the worst point, for about 1/4 mile stretch the Caribbean station dominates, this is centered at the intersection of I-280 and South Harrison StreetThe second is WQXR-FM at 105.9 being pushed off by a Caribbean station with a mix of religious talk and music transmitting at 105.7 It also seems to be centered in the Orange / East Orange area. Both of these stations have clean high quality signals that are not distorted, and have very even coverage along the drive, so they obviously own decent equipment.I went back to check again, and also found stations at102.3 - Spanish102.5 - Caribbean102.9 - SpanishI have read previous discussions where it is clear that it is very difficult to shut down these stations when they are located, so I suggest making it an offence to purchase air time, commercials or sponsorships on these stations. This will allow you to go after the station by shutting down the source of their income. Maybe some obscure law where the advertizers can be charged with aiding and abetting a criminal act could be applied.Philip J Altenburg
