You could try something like a DTV Pal Plus which is a DTV tuner popularly marketed by Dish / Echostar. I don't think there are new ones out there but I see several on Ebay for cheap like $10 to $25 or so with a remote control.
There is a menu setup to configure it to stay on full time without timing out.
The original DTV Pal had a discrete component tuner while the later DTV Pal Plus has a synthesized tuner.

Depending of course on what type of output you need, e.g component or RF channel 3 or 4, etc.

To the group:

Would anyone have recommendations for a consumer grade ATSC tuner? The application does not justify the expense of a full-broadcast quality demod. The tuner will be used to receive 8VSB (not cable) to feed a Slingbox or similar arrangement. At this site, good sensitivity and good selectivity are a must. An IR remote would be a plus.

I've used a number of NTSC tuners in the past but have no experience with ATSC tuners. Any recomendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
